Julian came home and took his first two breathing treatments but by 7pm he was really struggling to get oxygen. He was grunting at times and had some retractions going. We decided to call the after hours line because he was way worse than he had been during his visit just a few hours before. They had us do another breathing treatment (on top of the one he had an hour before) and if things didn't improve to take him in to the ER. We did as we were told and there was no improvement so it was an er visit for us. They gave him a mega dose of breathing treatment (two medicines in that one) and a steroid which he has to take for the next five days.
It is so upsetting and frustrating to see your baby sick. You want so badly for therm to be well. You do all you can to fight the good fight for them without freaking out at every little thing. It breaks my heart to see him down. Hoping he makes a speedy recovery!
Taking a breathing treatment.
