Everbody's cruisin now......

Just a few quick shots that I took today. Julian is SO MUCH fun these days!! He is cruising all around the furniture now (see video below) and trying to practice standing on his own. We are so blessed to have this sweet little boy.

5 teeth and counting!!

Every day brings something new for Mr. Julian. Yesterday it was his 5th tooth!! Today when I went to pick him up at school he was holding on to me while standing and let go. He stood ALL BY HIMSELF for about 15 seconds (before he got excited then nervous and grabbed me again). It is amazing how each day brings something else. I can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring!!

Check out those chompers!!
Laughing at Ms. Jeffries (his daycare teacher).
Sweet little rocker boy.
Last but not least....Diesel realized today that Julian drops food as he eats. Here he is just watching and praying that Julian will drop a portion of that Mum Mum.

Busy Weekend!

We had another fun filled weekend with our little man. On Saturday we took him on the carousel at the mall for the first time and he LOVED it!! I am sure we have thousands more of these rides in our future! On Saturday we ran our errands, had dinner with friends and Julian even stayed up late (oooohhhhh 9:00......big time now baby!!). Today we layed low and had lots of laughs at the house. Julian has been working on mastering his pull up skills. It is all he wants to do. He spent a good amount of time this weekend standing at anything he could (the couch, the ottoman, his exesaucer, Mom or Dad.....he even tried to use the dog!) and has even begun to take a few steps down the furniture (SCARY reminder that walking isn't too far away!!). It is certain that two days of fun = a tired baby boy. The way he fell asleep tonight was hilarious!

I know I say it a lot but we really are blessed to have such a sweet little boy to call our own. His smile is infectious and his laugh unforgettable. His personality is really starting to show through and it will only be more fun as the days go by!!

How he fell asleep tonight. It doesn't look comfortable AT ALL.

Today Julian thought the tickle game was hilarious. I just love his laugh!

The pull up king

The last day or so Julian has been obsessed with standing. He is pulling up on EVERYTHING. And he prefers to spend his time standing and playing with things versus sitting and playing with his toys. He has gotten quite quick about it and really seems to have it down. I know that he just started crawling.....but with all this coming on so quickly it sure does seem like he is going to walk soon enough. Oh boy.....not sure what we will do when that day comes!!

Here is the sweet boy playing after school today.

Big boys do big things!

Julian is doing so much these days!! He recently started feeding himself some finger foods. Tonight we began to teach him how to properly give a high five. He is such a joy and getting to be more and more fun each day!!

Warm Sunny Day

Today was BEAUTIFUL!! After what seems like weeks of cold and rainy today was in the high 60's and sunny. After running some errands and eating a quick lunch we strapped Julian into his stroller and headed to our neighborhood park. Apparently a lot of other people had cabin fever as well because the park was PACKED!!! Julian had a great time playing on the swings and crawling through the tunnel. He got his first taste of dirt today too.....the first of many to come I am sure!!

Julian and Daddy at the park.
Julian loved the swing!
As you can tell.......
Big boy crawling through the tunnel.
Go Julian GO!!

8 Months and 100 posts later!

WOW!! I just noticed (as I logged in to create this post) that The Shogun Diaries has officially reached a milestone!! This is officially post 101 in the series. 101 posts to describe the big ways that this little man has brought unconditional love into our lives. 8 months of snuggles and giggles and laughs and play time. What a great ride the last 8 months has been. From the newly born little baby who came home from the hospital to the up and coming almost toddler he is today. It has been so wonderful to be able to share all the great moments with our friends and family near and far.

So today it is cheers for Julian's 8 month birthday and a toast to many more fun times ahead!

Baby has a brand new smile!

Just a quick post this morning.......

Julian started with this new smile over the weekend. When something REALLY pleases him he crinkles up his nose.....scrunches his eyes and smiles so big that you can see all of his teeth. I have been trying to capture it for days!! I finally did this morning....so of course I had to share!

Happy Tuesday!

Fun with Props and Grandma

Hirma is visiting for the weekend and she watched Julian today while I worked. She brought with her some cute baby sunglasses and a hat from one of Ronnie's sisters. We had a good time playing with him....and his new props. He really was a good sport. He didn't fuss or try to take them off. In my book.....that was a win-win! He really is such an easy going baby!!

Bedtime Routine

Every night we go through the same routine with sweet Julian. It is dinner, bath time, story and bed. Each night as we go through the routine I cherish every minute of it. Maybe it is because we see him so little during the week. Maybe because he is so sweet and cuddly just before bed. Or maybe it is because just like every other minute since the evening of June 10, 2009........he is the most precious thing I have ever known. It had been a few days since I picked up my camera and I was just itching to play with my manual mode some more so I followed him through the process with my lens tonight. Here are a few of the shots from tonight......some new favorites for sure! ALL taken in manual (GO MOMMA!!).

Mmmmmm.......Squash is messy!
Julian just before a bath. Laughing at Daddy as his diaper comes off.
Reading his book (Julian style).
One last shot before bed. Can't wait to see this beautiful face again tomorrow.
Thank you lord for this sweet, beautiful miracle. I am one lucky girl.

I posted that Julian was beginning to crawl a week or so ago and boy the difference a week has made. This kid has figured it OUT! We are so in trouble!!
