Monkey Butt

Julian is still trying to get through his Croup. He is finally starting to feel a bit better so today he sat on the floor and played for a bit. Of course Momma had to snap a few pictures because he just looked too stinking cute!

This week has been rough. Trying to balance work and a sick baby that wants to be held 24/7 because he feels like crap. I do have to say however....that the extra cuddle time was AWESOME. Not that I wish a sick baby on anyone (especially myself) but he will never be as small as he was today. Every day he will get bigger and bigger and more independent. Someday (if we do our jobs well) he will go to college and become a great functioning member of our society. But this week.....he was the little baby boy that gave Momma the opportunity to snuggle him to her hearts desire.

Sick Baby :(

So.....I haven't been slacking this week! In fact I have been quite busy taking care of a sweet sick baby. He is still trying to kick it but he seems to be getting better (fingers crossed). Because of him being ill........almost all of my pictures are of him sleeping. When he was awake Momma was too busy loving on him and making him feel better. Here are a few pictures from the last few days........

This is an action shot of what I have had a lot of this week......the official "Momma pick me up" signal. I have to say, he has just started this and it melts my heart every time. To see the child that I love so much reach in my direction.....just knowing that he wants to be near me. It just gets to me. I am like a big ball of goo! Who could ever deny this?!?!?

Today I look over to where Julian is sleeping just to see Lance snuggled up to him. He loves Julian.......when Julian isn't awake and reaching out for him. LOL.

Julian's First Christmas

Julian's first Christmas was eventful in more ways than one! He was coming down with a cold (or so we thought) which led to some restless sleep on Christmas Eve. He was up for good around 5 AM on Christmas morning so presents were opened a bit early. He had a great day playing with all of his goodies and we joined the Breznik family for their annual family meal. We were back at Nana's house and Julian was in bed as usual by 8PM. Right around 10PM he started with a terrible cough and had some labored breathing so it quickly became his first trip to the emergency room. He was quickly diagnosed with Croup (a viral infection that affects the vocal chords) and put on steroids for three days. As of today, he appears to be getting better but he still has quite a bit of congestion. We may be making a trip to his regular doctor tomorrow just to get him checked out. Even though he was sick he still kept a smile on his face and made this Christmas the best one yet! We can't wait to see his face light up around this time year after year. We are so blessed!

We just made the switch to 9 month clothes (some 6-9 still fit as well) so Julian has been wearing a ton of new super cute stuff!! I have been trying to get some pictures.........before he outgrows them. The last few days have been warm enough for him to wear some of his shorts (it has been in the 70's here!). Enjoy the pics!!

Little Big Man

We had a relatively quiet weekend. On Saturday I had a girls crafts day and Maria, Stephanie, Christie, Shelly and myself worked on some homemade Christmas gifts while Daddy and Julian spent some quality time together. Today we mostly hung out on the floor as a family. Julian must have some teeth on the way because he has had some rough days and nights.

As my previous post said....Julian is trying to pull up on stuff. He has these bouts where he really rather stand. I managed to capture a couple of shots today of him being a "little big man". It seems that he is growing at light speed now!

Getting stronger by the day!

Julian is getting SO strong! He is tiny but mighty!! He actually pulled up to stand today at school (using the toy box in the room). He had a toy in one hand and the other on the box......then he decided that he needed to gnaw on a finger or two so he let go of the box!! Apparently he is fearless too!!

He is getting closer and closer to crawling each day. Milestones sure are coming fast and furious now!!

Big Boy Car Seat!

This boy is getting bigger (and heavier!!) every day. We decided that it was time to break down and transfer him from his infant carrier (he had less than 2lbs to go before officially outgrowing it) to a convertible car seat....aka....big boy car seat! This one will last until he forward facing and 50 lbs. He seems to like it.....and momma likes only having to carry 20lbs versus the 40 that he weighed when he was in his infant carrier!

Six Month Stats

Just a quick note to let everyone know how Julian's appointment went. He did GREAT!! Barely cried at all. He took those shots like a real Man!! He is now weighing 19.9lbs and is 271/2 inches long!!

It is so fun watching him grow!!

Busy Weekend!

We had quite a busy weekend! Saturday was Adrian's Birthday (and parents day out at daycare) so Adrian and I enjoyed a "date day" by grabbing brunch and a couples massage. That evening we headed to Sugar Land where we had a Christmas party to go to. This meant that Julian got to spend some quality time with Nana and Aunt Carla. Today Julian started his next new food.....Bananas! At first he wasn't quite sure he liked the texture but by the end.....they were a HIT! Tomorrow......6 month shots.....not so fun but necessary!

Six Months Old!!

WOW!! Time sure does fly by fast when you are having fun! I can't believe that six months have passed since we were blessed with our little man! It is so fun watching him grow......and now the fun really begins......the crawling and walking and talking! Parent.....best job ever!!

Gearing up for the holidays!

Well....it is official....the Christmas season has begun!! The tree is up, gifts have been purchased and we have a little life to share the holidays with! We had a fairly lazy weekend taking care of things around the house. We made time to take Julian to see Santa for what will be the first of many pictures for years to come. What a GREAT way to spend a Saturday morning!

Julian's First "Snow"

Today we got some SNOW!! Not much stuck in our part of town but there were parts (like Sugar Land) where they ended up with one to three inches on the ground. We had flakes fall all day but nothing stuck around. Here are a few quick shots of Julian in his first "snow". Hopefully someday soon we will take him to visit Uncle Jose and Aunt Kristen in Colorado and show him real snow. HA!

Not much going on here. Julian is still combating his cold. At least he seems to be winning so far! Tonight when we got home he was super giggly and as always.....so cute! Here are a couple of pictures that Momma just couldn't help but snap.
