Happy Thursday

Nothing incredibly exciting going on here. We (and by we I mean Julian) eat, we sleep, we poop. It has been a quiet week overall. Hirma & Natalie will be here for a week long visit beginning tonight so hopefully we will have some more interesting stuff to post about. Other than that......it is life in general. Here are a few of the things Julian has done in the last couple of days.

Julian likes to PASS OUT after a feeding.....even if it is during his burping time.

Bath time has become more enjoyable. Here is Julian and Daddy after his bath last night.

Sleep some more......here he and Diesel fell asleep yesterday.

Play and talk to the world. He is starting to coo more and more these days.

I have decided on the camera I want. Looks like Christmas will be coming early. But I am so looking forward to catch all of Julian's little moments. Look for more (and better quality) pictures to come! YAY!

Aha!!! Caught it!

So.....I have been hounding poor Julian the last few weeks in search of that smile with nothing in the way.

Every time he was in a great mood (almost always) and smiling up a storm I would quickly grab my camera. As soon as he saw that thing the smile would fade and it was all business. It was like he was Jon and Kate and I was the paparazzi.

Well.....this morning as he was talking to me contently I managed to get a quick snap of one. Not the best picture quality.....but at least there weren't any obstructions this way.

See it along with a few others taken in the last few days.

Just hanging out on Mom's Bed.

Seriously Mom, what's with all the pictures???

FINALLY.......the shot I have been looking for. WOO HOO!!
I hope you found it as cute as we do!
On a side note.....Mommy take a lot of pictures....so now we are in search of a way to store them (in the event of a computer crash) and a new (super duper) camera is on Mom's list for Christmas.

1 Month Photo Shoot

Backtracking a bit (as Julian is almost 7 weeks old) but we just got his 1 month pictures back. We can't believe how much he has grown already! We are so in love with our beautiful boy. Here are a few pictures from the shoot (we have so many great one's). For those of you on Facebook....I have more on there. Take Care!

Misc.

So.....I haven't had a chance to post the last couple of days (slaps own hand). But that doesn't mean that I haven't been snapping away at this gorgeous little boy!!

The past week has been fantastic! Julian is smiling more and more every day. He is beginning to make all sorts of baby noises. He has dropped a night-time feeding (WOO HOO!!!!) so now he feeds anywhere from 9-10pm, then any time between 2-4am and then again sometime between 5:30am and 7:30am. We are hoping that this is his new schedule (fingers crossed) and that we are slowly working our way to a full night's sleep. He hit the 6 week mark this past Wednesday. YAY!! He is also beginning to lose some hair (which is obvious in some of these pictures) toward the front but has new hair growing in. We are having such a wonderful time watching our little miracle grow and change daily.

Here are a few pictures that were taken over the last few days:

He looks like he is working on some sort of trouble to get into.

Still trying to capture that smile......darn hand got in the way!!

Just hanging out in Mom & Dad's bed.

Chillin' with my Dawg.....er.....I mean Dog.

Fun with a sleeping Julian (Part 2)

In honor of Julian turning six weeks old I decided to post some pictures of some of the fun we have had with him (all while he sleeps away the day).

Our own little Heisman Trophy:

Light as a feather......stiff as a board:

We hope to be able to mess with him while he is awake during the next six weeks.

Got It!!!

I don't have much time to blog as Julian has been spending a lot more time awake these days. But I finally captured a smile on video.....and bonus.....we got a coo too! So ADORABLE (but hey....I am biased!)!!!

What a difference five weeks makes

Each week I have been taking pictures of Julian in his car seat. It is really part of a larger project (hope to have one from each week until he outgrows it at 22 lbs). So......when I uploaded his picture from today and compared it to the picture of him coming home I couldn't believe the difference. Granted.....he looks different all the time! He can even look different from hour to hour some days! So I thought I would share......

Coming home (at 3 days old)

Today (5 weeks):

And a bonus one.........."Let me tell you something Momma!"

Sunday's at the Aldana Household

Just another Sunday hanging out at the house for us. Since Julian's umbilical cord stump finally fell off we decided to give him his first "real" tub bath.

As you can see.......he was thrilled. It will get better I am sure.

There was a whole bunch of napping. Julian is proving to be like his Mama....not a fan of having his feet covered if he can help it.
He has also found his tongue.......which is pretty amusing. He is having a grand time sticking it out at us.

Till next time!

1 Month Old Today!!!

We are in awe.....our little miracle has been with us for a whole month today! Julian is weighing in at 10lb and 4oz (eating is not a problem for this boy!!) now.

We did so much this week. Had lunch with Daddy at work one day, had lunch and met some of Mommy's coworkers another day and spent one day with Auntie Shelly who came to visit from Sugar Land.

Julian has begun to have more hours of being awake (now if we can only work on the scheduling of those hours!!) and you can really tell that he is able to focus on things. His eyes are still a blue grey and his eyelashes are coming in fast and furiously (looks like they will be long and dark). Every once in a while he will even give you a big great gummy smile! It will MELT YOUR HEART in an instant.

Here are a few pictures taken today. On his one month birthday. He will never be this little again......and by the way this kid is growing...............

Don't know what it is about this one.....but I love this face!

Caught him at the tail end of a full on gummy smile. Still trying for a better picture.....but he just doesn't find my camera that amusing.

Milestones

Seems like it took so long for Julian to do more than just sleep......but now he is beginning to emerge and show us some personality.

Julian has reached a lot of milestones in the last week. He let us sleep for more than three hours (41/2 to be exact) at night. His umbilical cord stump FINALLY fell off (July 5Th) and tonight he smiled his first real smile. Unfortunately, I did not have my camera on me for that one. However, later on we were hanging out and he was working on his neck muscles so I got some footage of that. He is doing GREAT! We thing he has pretty good control for a newborn......but what do we know......we are just his (TOTALLY BIASED) parents.

A quick video of Julian showing off his mad neck skills......I guess you guys will just have to get used to my "baby voice" for I am sure it will show up a lot in this and future clips.

A weekend of 4's

We had a bunch of 4's this weekend! Celebrated Julian's first fourth. Julian let us sleep for over four hours in a stretch. Grandma and Grandpa came to visit for (okay the wrong four.....but work with me people!!) a few days.

Julian with Grandma and Grandpa.
Julian enjoyed his first fourth! Nothing too crazy for him.....nap, eat, poop, sleep, repeat. We enjoyed time with good company and ate a bunch of good food. Didn't go out to watch any official firework shows......watched what we could from our balcony instead.

My YUMMY American Flag Cake.

Julian's First 4Th!

A boy and his dog

So......before Julian was here.....we had two other babies (Lance & Diesel). They still are our babies, but getting used to their new brother has been an adjustment.

At first.....when Julian would cry they would both go running. When I had to go back into the hospital and came home again.....they looked shocked that we brought "that thing" back home with us.

But in the last few weeks.....they have really come to love him. Lance likes to sniff Julian and lay next to him when they are both hanging out in our bed. Diesel is a good "Nana" dog and always checks on Julian when he is in his bassinet. Lately.....Diesel has really taken to him. He likes to steal a lick when he can and when Julian is down on the floor Diesel wants to be laying right beside him.

I can't wait to see these two play as Julian gets older.

Here is a glimpse at the beginnings of Diesel and Julian's relationship.
