Productive weekend

We had a crazy busy weekend. Friday we went out with some friends for dinner (it was Julian's firs time to be out past bedtime and he did GREAT!). On Saturday Adrian helped a neighbor install some flooring and I ran some errands. Today Mom came to visit and watched Julian for us while we caught up around the house. We then spent some quality time playing in the living room (which is where the picture above was taken).

Fruit of the week was Mango which Julian loved. He also had his first real "solid" food today. By solid I mean that it was the first food that I didn't puree for him. He had a blast eating his crackers.

Julian is EVERYWHERE these days. He can crawl 4-5 feet now in one stretch and is pulling up on anything he can get his hands on.

It was a crazy weekend but we spent most of it around the house and all of it with our baby boy. It was soooo much fun. We are so blessed to have such a sweet little boy.

Dirty and Clean

Julian had a great weekend. We spent Saturday around the house where Julian crawled for the first time. It wasn't far or very co-ordinated but it is a start! On Sunday we took him for his first "big boy" swing ride on a local elementary school playground. He loved it!! We also had an impromptu bath time sink photo shoot (to celebrate Momma's new lens of course!). Now if only I could find more hours in the week days to take more pictures of this sweet baby boy!

Playtime

Laying on the floor has become my new favorite pastime. Julian is always playing on the floor and I have found that getting down there and playing along with him brings a greater joy than any I have ever experienced in my pre-Julian life. Along with us on the floor....more often than not is my trusty camera. Tonight...armed with my new lens I attempted to take some pictures of us rolling around and giggling out loud. This was my favorite to come from tonight's play session. Of course my short stack arms and 50mm lens can only capture so much.......just enough to capture the darling look in my sweet boy's eyes as he giggles along to Mommy making noises and kissing his face. I love this life.

Momma's got a brand new lens

Got my new lens in today. You know what that means??? New pictures of my favorite little man!! He isn't feeling the best (fighting a cold and an ear infection while cutting new teeth....talented little guy) but he has still been quite the trooper. Enjoy!

He was born.....A Babblin' Man

Julian hasn't been much of a talker. I was starting to wonder when and if he would ever actually start. He has had the baby coos down for a while but he didn't always use them and hadn't really made any attempts at consonants or repetitive sounds or anything that really resembled the typical "baby babble" that one would expect.

Baby books say it happens between seven and nine months. Well....they weren't lying. What the baby books didn't say what that it was like one day (Saturday to be exact) when he was napping a little babble fairy would swoop down and give him the ability. It was like a switch was flipped and something (maybe it is him "talking" up a storm pretty much non-stop since Saturday afternoon) tells me that there is no going back now!! My baby boy has a voice and he just figured out how to use it!

Just a quick post because it is late.....but I just had to share. We went to Sugar Land this weekend to meet some family for brunch. The weather was finally warm and dry enough for Julian to enjoy one of his Christmas gifts from Nana. A Radio Flyer wagon. I would tell you how much he enjoyed it in explicit detail but I think that the pictures explain themselves.

Here are a couple of pictures taken over the last few days. Julian is still growing up a storm. He went to the Dr for his seasonal flu shot booster this morning. He was a trooper.....didn't even cry! I don't know how scary that is. He is going to be one tough little boy!! He is officially weighing in at 20lbs 9oz. But if you ask me he is a ton of fun. I know....terrible Mom joke. Oh well....onto the pictures!!

7 Months Old!

I know that I have said this before....but time REALLY does fly! Especially when you are busy trying to enjoy every single minute of watching a sweet little baby grow. I can't believe that our little man is seven months old already!

This weekend went by too quickly (as the often do!) but we made the most of it. Hung out with friends, did a little shopping and met up with Nana for lunch. Not to mention an impromptu photo shoot. This kid is gonna hate cameras when he gets older. HA!!

Best Buddies

Julian is really beginning to explore the world around him. He loves scooting around on the floor and finding anything that may be in his reach.....and even some things that aren't. He will bend and twist and turn and flip any way that he has to in order to reach the object in his sights. One of his favorite "things" to reach for these days is Diesel. He or Lance really....but Lance is rarely within range. Either way......Julian finds the dogs to be hilarious and we find their budding friendship to be quite cute.

New Year's Weekend

We had a good (and quiet) New Year's Weekend. Julian was in bed around 7:30 and we were in bed shortly after Midnight. Since he was still working his way through the croup we opted not to go to Elgin to see Adrian's family and they were gracious enough to come see us. We all had a great time. Can't ask for much more than that!!
