Sick Day

Julian has been fairly healthy since he got his tubes put in (May 20th). This is only the second or third time he has been sick since then. He was up all night last night coughing his famous croupy seal cough and he wasn't generally feeling well so I kept him home today. He seemed to be feeling more like himself by this afternoon. Here is to hoping that it passes quickly as we have plans for the weekend. While I had a captive audience I took advantage and snapped some pictures.

Frick and Frack.....trying to see what is going on down the street. My serious, beautiful boy.
Reading his new Yo Gabba Gabba Book.
Don't mind me Mom.....Just checking the oil.
His famous cheesy smile face.
I love this little boy so much. It really was a blessing to be able to spend the day with him. Even if it means make up work this evening.

Busy, Busy, Busy!

That sure seems to be my Motto lately. We had a jam packed weekend again! Saturday morning we got up and took Julian to the dog show. He had a great time running a round and yelling "DOG!" at each puppy that walked by. We came home just in time for Julian to nap and to watch our friend's Josh and Shelly's awesome kiddos. Saturday night was dinner with the Kenningtons and back home to bed.

Sunday began with us heading downtown to the Natural Science Museum to see a rare corpse flower. Followed up with some running of errands then off to Brandon's 1st birthday party. After the party it was catching up around the house and early to bed!

Here are a couple of pictures from this weekend. Enjoy!!

Julian giving his best Zoolander face while playing with his water table.
Julian's favorite thing to do these days.....kisses all around!
The boys and the corpse flower. As you can see.....Julian was not nearly as amused as we were.
He did like the butterflies though!
Nothing like a family picture on a giant caterpillar!!

We look forward to many more fun filled family weekends to come!

Catching Up

I am trying to get caught up from the weekend. It was a whirlwind. We had a play date on Saturday (joined our local children's museum) with a couple of friends followed by dinner with Nana. Sunday was errands and a trip to the Circus!! Julian love the first 15 minutes or so but quickly lost interest and we spent the rest of the time walking up and down the food area. LOL.

He is officially in the toddler room now. No more bottles in his life (day or night) and is talking up a storm!! On Sunday evening he was practicing his words (some in English and some in his own language) and one string was "Daddy, Poo Poo, Bubbles". That cracked us up quite a bit.

Now we are almost halfway through the work week. Wow....the days seem to go by faster and faster!!

Here are a few pictures taken while getting ready for bed tonight.

Julian getting tickles from Daddy. Starting his photography obsession early.
Having fun in the bath.
Playing with two of his favorite toys. His glow worm and his baseball cap.
Last but not least....here is a picture of me as an two year old side by side with one of Julian taken at his play date last Saturday. Look like Momma much???

Splish Splash

As an official Toddler room attendee Julian gets to participate in Splash Day at school. Each Friday the kids play in the sprinkler during their morning outside time. Of course Momma had to go join in the fun for the first time around!! I think he had fun.....what do you think??

This i my favorite of the bunch!!
Testing out the waters (literally).
He had so much fun running in and out of the sprinkler.

After school we hung out at the house and watched some Yo Gabba Gabba. Here is my little focused JUNKIE!!
This is his "seriously Mom? I am watching my show. Please leave me alone. " face.
We went to a local park to have a picnic tonight. At said park is a series of fountains for kids to run through. Julian had a BLAST!!!

I think it is fairly safe to say that we have a little water baby on our hands. That sure will come in handy during these hot Texas summers!

Here is your sign!

Julian is learning so much these days!! He is really starting to talk and is working fast and furiously on learning his signs as well! Here are a couple of quick shots I took of him during circle time at school. What a smart boy we have on our hands!! Not sure if that is exciting.....or scary as all get out! HA!

So focused on the teacher!! Trying to make the sign for "pumpkin".
He sure does love to learn!!

Bubbles and Drums

Just a quick post. We had a BLAST with Julian tonight. His personality is really starting to show now that he is so active and vocal. He loves to laugh and giggle. Tonight he had a great time playing with bubbles (a new word he has added to his arsenal) and playing with Daddy's snare drum.

Daddy's drum was out because he has a new band!! I can't wait to take Julian to see Daddy play now that there is a practice space with plenty of room for him to spread his kit out.

Julian's new word....Bubbles. He loves to say it almost as much as he loves the bubbles themselves!

Catching up.....

I promise that I am not slacking on purpose!! We have had a very busy week. Work was nuts (new boss starts Tomorrow and the 1st of the months is always busy), home was nuts (buying flooring supplies and putting it in yesterday). But I did manage to snap a few shots here and there.

The week itself was very uneventful but we did find out on Friday that Julian is transitioning to the older Toddler room. We will begin this process tomorrow and he will be in that room full time on the following Monday (I believe it is the 19Th but I don't have a calendar in view and I am too tired to stop and look it up). This means no more milk in a sippy throughout the day. Just his 3 meals (with Milk at those of course) and three snacks consisting of table food. He is dropping a nap and going to 1 two hour nap. It is bittersweet because Julian has only been in his current room for just over three months. We love his current teachers but if how much he grew when he joined his current room is any indication of what is to come then we are in for some serious growth in our little man's development. Keep your fingers crossed that the transition isn't too tough on our little man.

We spent the weekend installing the new wood floors and they look AMAZING. Adrian and our friend Josh put them in while Josh's wife Shelly and I took care of the kiddos (and did some shopping). It was great having old friends near all weekend. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family in our lives. If only they lived closer....we could do this more often!

I have a busy week ahead of me but let us see if I can get a couple of posts in to catch up. Wish me luck!! Here are a few pictures of J taken over the last week. It is amazing to see how big our little man looks. I love this kid with every ounce of my being.

Playing in the bath.
Hamming it up for Mom.
Giggling with Daddy.
Julian trying to get Diesel to play (note the pretty wood floors!).
I hope everyone has a fantastic week. This chick is off to bed!!

4th of Julya (Sick Boy) Recap

It is sad to say but we have no pictures of Julian from 4Th of July. Our little boy was so sick over the weekend. Some nasty virus that has his nose pouring and his little body feverish. He still ran a fever last night so I kept him home today just to make sure that it wasn't going to make a return. So far so good. He is set to return to school tomorrow. We did have a good time giggling today. Here are a few pictures I took of him while he was all grins this afternoon.

He looks so big these days!!
Julian loving on his big boy.
Tonight before bed Julian was feeling so good that he was even playing a silly game of possum. These boys are so silly and they make my life complete!

Poo Poo

These babies are like sponges!! It is amazing to see the rate that they learn. Since Julian mastered walking his new focus has been talking. He has a good sized vocabulary (for a 12 month old!) with Momma, Daddy, Ball, Bye Bye, Uh Oh and Achoo. Today the daycare provider told me (through giggles) that Julian has a new word. His new word is Poo Poo! I took a quick video of him giggling and sharing his new word tonight. What a wonderfully silly little miracle of a boy we have.

Just a few more weeks of these bedtime bottles then they are gone for good. Mommy enjoying some snuggles before bed. Hamming it up for Mommy before bed.

Bath time still remains one of his favorite times of the day.
