Talking and signing machine!

Mommy pretty much feels like she got hit by a truck. Not sure what kind of bug I have but it isn't fun and I am doing all I can not to pass it along to Julian or Adrian. Since I feel like poop this post will be quick one. I just snapped a few of Julian tonight at dinner. He was having a good time feeding his food to the dogs.

Here is he serious......with food in hand. Just after he threw it. He thought it was the funniest thing ever.
Well.....almost as funny as when Mommy tickles him with her feet.
Julian watching TV after school. This is pretty much the only time he sits still these days.

At night before bed we read our "word books" and do his flash cards. Julian loves practicing his words and his signs. He has many more but these are some of his favorites.

New Seasons....new words, new games, new everything!

Our first "cool" front came in. YAY FOR FALL!! Around here that means 70's during the day and low 60's at night. It was actually cool enough today for Julian to wear jeans!!! Tonight after school we were even able to play in the back yard for a bit without his cheeks turning red in the first two minutes.

Playing near the garage. Talking to Momma.
Showing off those new shoes!

The change in weather was the perfect ending to a wonderful weekend. We went to the Children's museum, hung out at the mall and watched some football. Julian even learned the proper way to react to Touchdowns. Just see the video below.......

ALL DONE!!!!

Adrian and Julian have a new game after bath time. They sit there and scream "ALL DONE!!!" at each other. They think it is hilarious......I think they are adorable. I will keep them both!

Happy Thursday.

Nothing super crazy or funny to share today.....just a few pictures. Julian is finally able to wear the Rob Zombie T-Shirt that his Aunt Natalie got him. He looks so stinking cute in it. That and his new DCs. I am not sure when my cuddly baby boy became a snugly big toddler boy but there are no complaints here. I am keeping him! Julian pointing and saying "What's that?". A new favorite thing to do. This boy sure does love to learn.
Julian cheesing it up before school today. LOVE this face!

Weekly Weekend Roundup

I am noticing a trend.....Mondays and Tuesdays are crazy busy and I don't have much chance to wrap up my weekend and get my blog updated. I am going to have to try to get them in on Sunday otherwise it seems like Wednesday is the earliest day for new posts.

The weekend started out ROCKY!! Julian woke up on Friday Morning with a 102.5 fever. He continued to run a temperature (still in the mid 101's with Tylenol/Motrin) through Saturday night. Sunday he was back to his normal self with the exception of a rash that started at his tummy and spread until it covered him from head to toe. We had our answer there....Julian's mystery sickness was Roseola. We sure hope that is the last we see of that. High fevers are NO FUN!!

Due to him not feeling well most of the weekend were spent indoors with the exception of a quick visit to "safety day" in our neighborhood. Julian had a good time.....even though he wasn't 100%.

Julian and Daddy checking out the fire truck. Julian "piloting" the rescue chopper.
A quick trip to Walmart gave us a fun shot of Julian in some funny glasses. I just LOVE the face he was making!
Julian and Diesel watching TV tonight.
After bath.....Julian being CUTE as always.

It is so funny to see his personality bloom day by day. This morning when Adrian went to get him he was standing in his crib. As soon as Adrian reached in to grab him, Julian yelled, "No, No, No, No!" and lay back down.....head on the mattress and all. I feel the exact same way Julian.....each and every morning that the alarm goes off! Love you buddy!

It's the little things......

.......in my life that make me smile.

Julian's "focused" face. He has made it from day 1. I love shopping for him. Searching high and low for the perfect toys, books, clothes even down to the perfect shoes for my sweet boy.

When I wake, as I go through my day and even through the night, he is the little thing that makes me smile. Around this time two years ago we were one. Today.....I am just the moon in his world. He is the center of my Universe.
Plus.....is this not the cutest thing you have ever seen? Seriously....it should be illegal!

Oops I did it again....

I lost a couple of days there.........but I am back on track now!!! We had our first weekend at home in two or three weeks and it was MUCH NEEDED!!

We caught up around the house and made a quick trip to Sugar Land so that I could take some pictures of a pregnant friend. Julian had a good time running around with Nana. They went to feed the ducks and to get the mail (super exciting stuff when you are just a wee one!).

Last Friday Julian had his 15 month appointment. He weighed in at 26lbs (50-75%) and was 33 1/2 inches tall (95-97%). It is safe to say that our boy is GROWING!! This was never as evident as when I put him in his Patriots Onesie and could REALLY see just how much he had grown in a year. Time for a new Pats Jersey!

Julian watching the game last year...
And last Sunday.

Watching TV after school today. Cutest Toddler Ever!

Lakeside with Nana.

Outside on his swing. My entry for this week's photo contest. The subject was Silhouettes. LOVE IT!!

ALL BOY....

No really.....this is how he chose to watch his episode of Yo Gabba Gabba today. Then....when I started taking his picture he started being super silly.
Later on....I did something he didn't approve of (most likely something like take away something potentially dangerous or not let him jump up and down on me) so I got one of these.
But in the end......the afternoon ended as it usually does (which I REALLY enjoy) with Julian sitting on my lap.....checking out his favorite show.

He really is all boy. He comes home...wants to watch his shows and throws a fit when he doesn't get his way. He is ALL BOY. But he is my funny, silly, sweet, lovable little boy. I wouldn't change him for the world!

ENT TU!!!

We were eating dinner out at Olive Garden tonight. As the waitress brought Julian his dinner I said (as I have been for months now) say "Thank You" Julian. For the first time since I have been saying this Julian actually said it!!! Well......his version of it anyway. Ent Tu seems to be his best attempt at thank you. Watching him express himself has been so amazing! His list of words and signs has really exploded in the last month or so.

He is now up to a dozen or so words (or his version of the words): Bye Bye, Uh Oh, Night Night, Dog, Ball, Shoe (sounds more like Choose), Mommy, Daddy, Nana, Apple, Doctor, Up, Teacher (sounds more like cheacher), Thank You (sounds like Ent Tu), more and Achoo.

He also has a bunch of signs: more, please, milk, drums, yellow, pumpkin, hat, doctor, car, cat, all gone, goldfish, and many many more that I can't even think of at the moment.

Having a child is like watching a miracle happen day after day after day. I feel so privileged to be able to witness this kind of joy in my life. The fun has only begun.

Here are a couple of completely unrelated snapshots as Julian tried on his new DC tennis shoes. They are still a wee bit big so expect them to make their official debut later in the month.

As Uncle Willie says......

.....On the road again!

This past weekend we hit the road again. This time it was a trip to Grandma and Grandpa's place in Elgin, TX. Julian (and we) love going out there. We usually spend the weekend swimming, relaxing, eating good food and hanging out with family. As usual....this past weekend didn't disappoint!

Here is Julian enjoying his afternoon snack (goldfish crackers....a personal favorite) on the back porch. Julian also spent a lot of time doing this over the weekend. Apparently he just figured out that he could do it and he took every opportunity to do so. I assume that the full on somersault is next.
Daddy and Julian......walking the tracks.
Another sweet Daddy and Julian photo.

Last but not least.....Julian helping Aunt Natalie with her homework.

Nothing beats a relaxing weekend with family. What a perfect way to close out summer! BRING ON FALL!!

My Beanie Baby!

What do a 1/2 Puerto Rican and a 2/3 Mexican make?

One BEAN LOVER of a baby!!

Really though.....this kid LOVES beans. I made rice and beans for dinner tonight. I thought he was going to EXPLODE!!!

Julian signaling that his beans are"all gone"!
One Happy Beanie Baby!

Another thing Julian has begun doing.....the social laugh. It is HILARIOUS!! When people are laughing and he thinks that he should be too then he adds this new fake laugh. This kid is too much.

Oh.....and in other unrelated news.....his school teacher informed me that he learned how to climb onto the tables in the class and stand up on them.........LOVELY.
